OUR WORK

Our Field Location

Presently we working in high altitude areas of Manigong which is a remote village and a critical habitat for Red panda, Takin and other high altitude species in Shiyomi district in Arunachal Pradesh state of India.

Community Based Conservation of Red Panda

Arunachal Pradesh harbors the largest number of red pandas in India but ironically, not much is known about them from within the eastern part of the state. We are working on generating baseline information on Red Panda and to assess threat level.

Empowering Communities

We are working on Red Panda and Takin conservation through conserving their habitats and reducing forest dependencies of forest communities on nearby forest areas. Using responsible ecotourism as a tool, we focus on capacity building, awareness and stewardship development to coexist with rare species like the Red Panda, Takin and other high-altitude species in the region. Additionally we are doing plantation of native species and eco camps for school children.
